About Sheldon Heights
1. You will hear Congregational Singing. You will not see any musical instruments in the worship. The reason is, the New Testament NEVER authorizes them, but it did AUTHORIZE VOCAL MUSIC (only) (Eph. 5:19, Col 3:16-17, Heb 2:12, Acts 16:25, 1 Cor 14:15) You are encouraged to "join in" with us and sing!
2. You will hear PRAYER being offered to God the Father, in the name of JESUS CHRIST (Acts 2:42, Luke 18:1, John 14:14). One Christian will word or direct the prayer for the whole Congregation.
3. You will hear the preacher preach the GOSPEL OF CHRIST in a SIMPLE, DOWN TO EARTH manner in power and sincerity. (Acts 20:7, 2 Tim 4:1-2, Rom 1:16, Mark 16:15-16,
2 Cor 11:3). If your soul is hungry for Bible Preaching, then visit Sheldon Heights CHURCH OF CHRIST.
4. You will see the Lord's Supper being administered upon the first day of the week. (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 11:23-33, Acts 2:42). The Lord's Supper is composed of the fruit of the vine, and unleavened bread, (Matt 26:26-28).
5. You will see Christians give in the collection as they have been prospered upon the Lord's Day. (1 Cor 16:1-2, 2 Cor 9:6-7).
6. You can expect that all that is done will be done " decently and in order" (1 Cor 14:40).
7. You will be invited to come to Christ through Faith, Repentance, Confession and Baptism. (Rom 10:17, Acts 17:30, Matt 10:32, Acts 22:16).
8. You will also find a warm, friendly and appreciative Church each time you attend.
