REFLECTIONS:. I saw this on my Facebook timeline and it spoke to me, so I shared it in case it helps some one else.
See, I have not been worried lately, but it has bothered me to some degree and I prayed about it so that God can give me what I need to deal with it in a way that's pleasing to Him.
When people hurt me over & over again through their half truths, manipulations, or whatever ... when they say they care about me (or my husband, family, etc) or say to me "I have your back" ... When they have so many people fooled about who they really are, it is sometimes difficult to be still, pray, and let God. The human side of me sometimes wants to scream "What she's telling you is not the truth" OR "That's not the whole story." Instead, each day, I'm striving to keep my focus on what is most important, which is serving God and saving souls (including my own), and loving like Jesus.
I know I'm far from perfect, but I'm striving to be honest with myself about my spiritual walk. God sees the real me anyway, so who am I really fooling? I honestly know who I am and whose I am and I know that the only person I can really change is me... So that's what I'm trying to do. I want every day to take me into a closer relationship with God.
I always remember something my wise sister-friend, Carole Hamilton, shared in a speech one time; she said, "What they're saying about me when they're sitting together talking about me is really none of my business."
That was powerful to me when I heard it and it is even more powerful to me now. What matters most in this life, and in the one to come, is what God thinks of the life I'm living.
We are Sisters connected... mind, body & soul, which means we have activities and events that focus on the...
MIND -- Clear and strengthen our minds so we can see God during trials & triumphs
BODY -- Educate about our health, nutrition, and exercise and encourage us to practice what we learn.
SOUL -- Provide strong spiritual connections to build our vertical relationship with God and our horizontal to each other.
Sisters, we have different personalities and wear many hats, serving in multiple roles at home, work, school, community, church, or wherever God blesses us to use our time, talents treasures, and testimonies, but we celebrate our differences and strengthen one another S2S.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in me.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,
who you have received from God?
You are not your own.
1 Corinthians 6:19
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world yet forfeit the soul? What can one give in exchange for the soul.
